Florida State volleyball is back in the win column for the fourth-straight time this season, amassing an impressive win streak against solid competition. The Seminoles took on Clemson at home in the Tully Gymnasium and walked away with a 3-0 sweep for the fourth time this season.

A season ago, Florida State struggled throughout the year with playing consistently, and ultimately, the team failed to accomplish anything significant. The Seminoles kicked off the season with an impressive upset win over Kansas, and since then, the team has steadily improved while navigating through a difficult schedule.

The rigor of a schedule can only be used as an excuse for so long, and the Seminoles have a real chance at solidifying themselves as a top ACC contender this season.

Winners:

1. Coach Lindsay Allman

With a strong start to the season and an impressive winning record against ACC opponents, coach Allman has been stellar this season while navigating a tough schedule. Losses to FIU and Lipscomb may hurt, but the team is in a great position heading into the toughest stretch of the year.

Allman and Florida State will be truly tested moving forward, with powerhouses like Pittsburgh, Louisville, and SMU awaiting. The upcoming stretch of matches could be very telling about the trajectory of the program, but Allman has certainly put the team in a position to succeed early.

2. OH Kyleene Filimaua

The heart and soul of the Florida State attack has been Kyleene Filimaua, and the outside hitter proved exactly why she is so valuable against Clemson. Filimaua finished the match with 18 kills and four service aces for a total of 22 points.

Florida State has trouble consistently playing clean games regardless of who the opponent is, and at times, Filimaua has been at the center of those struggles. Against Clemson, Filimaua put together one of her most efficient performances of the season at a key time. Navigating the upcoming schedule will be difficult, but Florida State needs more of the same out of Filimaua in order to survive.

3. MB Nenu Kpea

Every team needs a role player or two to be great, and Florida State might have another serious weapon in the attack available. Middle blocker Nenu Kpea became the fourth freshman in program history to reach 100 blocks in a season last year, and so far, Kpea has picked up where she left off.

Kpea recorded nine kills and three block assists against Clemson, pushing her season total up to 136 kills. Kpea is currently on track to smash her previous career-high of 195 kills this season, and her second-year emergence is exactly what the team needs. Kpea was a pivotal part of the upset win over a ranked Kansas team early in the season, and with a difficult upcoming slate, expect the Seminoles to lean upon the middle blocker.

4. Florida State Volleyball

With four wins in a row and a 7-3 record when playing at home this season, the real winner so far in 2026 has been the Florida State volleyball program. This is a strong, competitive team that is far better than the 16-13 record a season ago would suggest. The Seminoles struggled to find a solid footing last season in ACC play, but improved wins over Miami and Clemson prove this team can hang with some of the stronger teams in the conference.

The expectation for Florida State volleyball was never to reach the very top of the ACC this season, but rather to improve while hunting down a spot in the postseason. The team has certainly improved, and now the real tests will be coming fast and furiously moving forward.

Losers:

1. OH Sofia Moss

Moss has been great for Florida State this season, and while the Seminoles did not truly need any extra firepower to take down Clemson, the outside hitter struggled during the win. Moss had two kills and four errors in 14 total attacks, while also adding three service errors.

Florida State has not been the most efficient team this season, and with difficult matches against the top of the ACC looming, the team needs to be better from top to bottom. Moss is going to continue to be a very big part of the attack for the Seminoles moving forward, which means she needs to limit her attack and service errors as much as possible.
