4-star TE commit Chase Loftin locked in with the Seminoles
Florida State's recruiting class in the 2025 cycle has been an adventure, with the program dealing with a 2-10 record. The Seminoles wished the season would end already.
Florida State has dealt with several de-commitments, such as Tramell Jones Jr., Byron Louis, CJ Wiley, Daylan McCutcheon, Malik Clark, Peyton Joseph, Daniel Pierre-Louis, Myron Charles, and Javion Hilson.
Some of the fan base have been concerned about the recruiting ranks and want to build the foundation of the program. The focus seems to be solely on the transfer portal to acquire veteran pieces to its roster.
Florida State's recruiting class is the 53rd-best in the country. That is not where the Seminoles want to be. It stinks that the program has got to this point. However, the momentum could be increased with the hiring of offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn and defensive coordinator Tony White.
There is some speculation that there could be some departures in the class still, with Solomon Thomas, Kevin Wynn, Gregory Thomas, and Max Redmon looking elsewhere. Hopefully, Florida State can hang on to the talented prospects.
One commit that seems to be ready to sign during the Early Signing Period between December 4th and 6th is four-star tight end commit Chase Loftin.
I realize that phrases such as "Locked in" have burned the Seminoles in the past with recruits such as Travis Hunter (PTSD triggers). However, Loftin was anticipated to heavily consider the home-state Nebraska Cornhuskers. But the tight end looks to remain firm with Florida State.
The potential tight-end position room that consists of Landen Thomas, Amaree Williams, and Chase Loftin could be scary for years to come in Tallahassee.
