Florida State's 2024 football season finally comes to a close as they fall to the arch-rival Florida Gators to finish with a 2-10 record. This was a disgusting campaign from a squad that was expected to win the conference and gain a spot in the College Football Playoff in the preseason.

However, head football coach Mike Norvell and his team did the unthinkable, only accomplishing victories over California and Charleston Southern. The losses continued to mount. Originally, I thought that the Seminoles' floor this year would have been 7-5. However, I couldn't have been more wrong in my entire life.

Florida State's recruiting efforts have struggled partially due to the on-the-field product. However, it is worth mentioning that the Seminoles did not even accomplish a top-10 recruiting class when they went 13-1 in 2023. That is a problem across the board with that aspect.

Nonetheless, Florida State is sitting as the 52nd-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite. The Seminoles are looking to find momentum as the Early Signing Period begins.

However, on Sunday afternoon, Florida State received some bad news as four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph from Houston County High School in Warner Robins, Georgia, announced that he was flipping his commitment from Florida State to Georgia Tech.

This flip comes after Joseph previously locked down his commitment with the Seminoles. However, his tune started to shift when offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins was fired.

Atkins was someone who recruited him to come to Florida State and had a great relationship with him. Understandably, he turned his attention to Georgia Tech when it happened. However, he was optimistic with the Seminoles after the firing, so the thought process was that he could stick through it.

Three-star offensive lineman Sean Poret would be a prospect that I would monitor going forward.
