Florida State football has disappointed this season. They possess a 1-9 record, and fans cannot even track all the losses. After just two games, the Seminoles were supposed to win a conference championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Head football coach Mike Norvell speaks on the fact that he has a plan in place to turn this around. It all starts on the offensive side of the football, which is the worst unit in all of college football.

Norvell has already made several changes to his coaching staff, including firing offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans.

The recruiting class seems to have taken a hit with the Seminoles' recent struggles on the field. Florida State ranks as the 19-best recruiting class, according to On3's Composite rankings.

The Seminoles have 13 pledges in their class with the recent commitments of three-star defensive ends Darryll and Mandrell Desir from Miami Norland High School in Miami, Florida.

However, Florida State could be in trouble with other prospects in the class to flip to other universities, such as four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. (Florida) and four-star tight end Chase Loftin (Nebraska).

While Jones Jr. has stayed pledged to the Seminoles, the flip crystal ball prediction to the arch-rival Gators after they announced that head football coach Billy Napier would stay in Gainesville is worrisome.

According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, Florida State is picking up steam for Class of 2025 four-star quarterback Carter Smith from Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, Florida.

It is great that the Seminoles are involving themselves with Smith and are looking to get him on an official visit before the Early Signing Period between December 4-6.

Smith had 2,200 passing yards with 29 passing touchdowns and only four interceptions. He also had 700 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns. It would not be a bad option if Jones Jr. does commit to the Florida Gators.
