4-star LB target Tavion Wallace makes a second straight visit to FSU before decision
Florida State football has struggled on the field during the 2024 season, where they have a 2-9 record on the year. The Seminole fan base just wants to turn the clock to 2025 already.
This is not what individuals were expecting, as the Seminoles were projected to win the conference and make the College Football Playoff. It was so bad that the over/under win total of 9.5 failed to cash after the third game of the season.
It was a massive failure by head football coach Mike Norvell where he thought he had constructed a squad that could contend with the best of the best. However, that notion had quieted down after the mess in Dublin, Ireland.
The only way to get out of this mess is to hire new coaches and acquire talented pieces to the roster. Norvell is getting the coaching hires in place after firing Alex Atkins, Ron Dugans, and Adam Fuller. There should be more relieved of their duties soon.
As it relates to recruiting, the Seminoles are ranked as the 46th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite. Florida State is not able to sell anything that is transpiring on the field.
However, that has always been an issue, as the coaching staff couldn't seem to sell their vision with a 10-3 record in 2022 or a 13-1 record in 2023. The biggest concern now is that Florida State is losing its commitments to arch-rival Florida, such as four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., four-star running back Byron Louis, and three-star offensive lineman Daniel Pierre-Louis.
There is some good news, though, as four-star linebacker target Tavion Wallace (Arkansas commit) will be visiting Florida State this weekend. This will mark the second straight trip to Tallahassee for Wallace.
The linebacker originally was projected to commit to Florida State in the summer, where he called the Seminoles his top school. Then in July, he stunned the Seminole fan base and chose Arkansas over Florida State.
This made fans furious with linebackers coach Randy Shannon and this coaching staff's ability to close on recruits. The Seminoles only have four-star Ethan Pritchard committed to the fold and would like to add at least one more linebacker.
I hope that Wallace can commit to Florida State during the Early Signing Period between December 4-6. Florida State will be his last visit before he decides.
