Florida State ranks as the 46th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite. That is not the standard at this proud university. The Seminoles are certainly wishing this 2024 campaign would end sooner rather than later.

Florida State is limping to the finish line with a 2-9 record and has to play a surprisingly surging Florida Gators that has a 6-5 record. If you had told me that these were the years that both teams were having, I would have thought that you were crazy.

Overall, head football coach Mike Norvell and individuals associated with the program cannot change what transpired this past season. However, there can and needs to be major changes. The first line of business is changing the coaching staff and then acquiring talented pieces to the roster via transfer portal and high school recruiting.

Florida State has a solid foundation in its recruiting class, but it needs to emphasize the importance of adding skill positions as well as offensive and defensive prospects in the trenches. The trenches will be a barometer for how serious the Seminoles are about wanting sustainable success.

While I know that the transfer portal prospects will help more in 2025 with getting Florida State back to respectability and keeping Mike Norvell's job safe, it should be noted that they should not abandon high school recruiting. Overdependence on the transfer portal is part of the issue that got us in this mess in the first place.

I already wrote about four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace, who is expected to visit this weekend for the second straight time before the Early Signing Period. That was a massive victory for Florida State.

The good news continues to come in as Class of 2025 four-star defensive end LaJesse Harrold (LSU commit) from Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida, is expected to officially visit Florida State this weekend as well in their matchup versus arch-rival Florida.

The Seminoles have three-star prospects Darryll and Mandrell Desir from Norland High School in Miami, Florida, but they would like to add more defensive end prospects to their class. You can never have too many pass rushers.

This would be a great pickup for the Seminoles. According to MaxPreps, Harrold recorded 32 tackles (14 for loss) and 11 sacks this past season for his high school. This is an interesting development, with the Early Signing Period a week away.

Next. FSU RB Roydell Williams should be available in rivalry matchup versus UF. FSU RB Roydell Williams should be available in rivalry matchup versus UF. dark
