Florida State football currently has the eighth-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminole fan base might not think it means much, but this is the core foundation of the program and it needs it for sustainable success.
Florida State has six prospects in their 2026 recruiting class with quarterback Brady Smigiel, wide receiver Efrem White, wide receiver Darryon Williams, offensive tackle Xavier Payne, safety Darryl Bell III, and safety Tedarius Hughes.
They are far from finished as the coaching staff wants to emphasize the trenches on the offensive and defensive sides of the football, much like it was for the 2025 recruiting class.
Florida State is continuing to bring talented prospects on campus. The defensive end position has become a hot commodity for programs with championship aspirations. As individuals saw with Jared Verse in the Wild Card Game, edge rushers can make or break your squad.
They are involved with several difference-makers on the edge. The following defensive end prospects made their intentions known that they were taking a trip to Tallahassee this weekend:
-Four-star Zavion Griffin-Haynes
-Four-star Trenton Henderson
-Four-star Katrell Webb
Of all these prospects, I am most excited about four-star Trenton Henderson coming to town. The Pensacola (FL) native has been to Tallahassee a couple of times. Henderson recorded 50 tackles (18 for loss), 10 sacks, and six breakups.
Overall, I want to see how new defensive line coach Terrance Knighton and off-the-field coach Odell Haggins (it pains me to type that) relate with the 2026 recruits. The Seminoles want a physical defense, and one of the ways that you get a physical defense is having a physical pass rush.
