Florida State football is ranked outside the top-40 during the 2027 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. This is not something that the Seminole fan base can get behind, given how much championship history this program has.

The Seminoles only have six commitments in the fold, and some of that could be that recruits are nervous about the job stability of head coach Mike Norvell. The program has only won seven games in two years, so it is tough to argue about the lack of confidence to get on board.

The official visit season is almost here, and Florida State recruiting talk has been dry. This is supposed to be an exciting time, but it seems like the Seminoles are treading water with even their commitments. Nonetheless, I want to highlight three recruits that Florida State and Mike Norvell cannot afford to lose during the official visit season.

Four-star WR Sean Green

Florida State made headlines in the wrong way as four-star wide receiver Jabari Watkins announced on social media that he would not be officially visiting the Seminoles anymore. Watkins once named Florida State his top school. Even though wide receivers aren't a priority, four-star Sean Green from Kingland, Georgia, has to be one of the staff members the staff goes after. Green looks to be choosing between Florida State and Georgia, and will be visiting on the weekend of June 5th.

Four-star DE Sam LeJeune

Defensive ends coach Nick Williams has been known for his young, energetic energy as a recruiter. He has already landed four-star Anthony Cavallaro, but there is plenty of work for a team that added nine defensive linemen in the last cycle. One of the top priorities in the trenches is four-star Sam LeJeune from Poplarville, Mississippi. He is officially visiting the Seminoles on the weekend of June 12th, but LSU is hanging around in the recruitment, and the staff has to seal the deal.

Four-star WR Jamarin Simmons

This last prospect that I am listing is four-star wide receiver Jamarin Simmons from Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida. This is a hometown product that the Seminoles need to be all-in on. However, the Clemson Tigers are the top dog in his recruitment and the school that he will be visiting before the Seminoles on the weekend of May 29th. It would sting to lose yet another Tallahassee recruit to an out-of-state team, but that is the reality of what Florida State faces right now.
