3 prospects in the 2025 cycle are projected to commit to Florida State soon
Florida State football's 2025 recruiting cycle is ranked as the 45th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite, after the commitment of three-star wide receiver Teriq Mallory.
The Seminoles are certainly not where they want to be in the recruiting class. However, this is the territory of finishing 2024 with a 2-10 record (that is still hard to type up) and introducing new coordinators and potentially position coaches.
I wanted to highlight prospects that have been projected to commit to Florida State soon by a variety of individuals.
THREE-STAR WR TEDDY HOFFMANN (FAU COMMIT)
Florida State already has commitments from three-star JUCO Jordan Scott and three-star Teriq Mallory in the 2025 class. The Seminoles have not hired a wide receivers coach yet, but the offensive prospects have to be excited about what Malzahn brings to the table.
One name that has picked up steam is Class of 2025 three-star wide receiver Teddy Hoffmann (FAU commit) from Atlantic High School in Delray Beach, Florida, who just received an offer from the Seminoles. During the 2024 season, Hoffmann recorded 69 receptions for 1,179 yards and 23 touchdowns. His three-star ranking is not adding up to his production.
THREE-STAR OT SEAN PORET (USF COMMIT)
Florida State is already diminishing its offensive line recruiting haul as four-star Peyton Joseph (Georgia Tech) and three-star Daniel Pierre-Louis (Florida) committed elsewhere. This is largely because offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins was fired.
Florida State decided to host three-star USF offensive lineman commit Sean Poret from Riverwood High School in Atlanta, Georgia, this weekend for the rivalry matchup versus the Gators. They have been on Poret for a while now. It seems like the coaching staff decided to push further with Solomon Thomas wavering between Florida State, Florida, and LSU.
THREE-STAR JUCO DT TYELAND COLEMAN
Florida State only has one defensive tackle prospect committed to the program, four-star Kevin Wynn. However, he has a prediction in favor of South Carolina. He is also looking at the home-state Georgia Bulldogs. That is a scary proposition not finishing with at least one defensive tackle prospect in the cycle.
One prospect that the Seminoles have started to heat up on was Class of 2025 three-star defensive tackle Tyeland Coleman from Northwest Mississippi Community College. Coleman officially visited Florida State this past weekend. He was projected to commit between the Seminoles, Illinois, and Mississippi State. He was supposed to decide last night but decided to wait (Florida State hired a new defensive coordinator, and he likely wanted to talk with him first before committing).
