It was another year of high turnover at FSU with around two dozen players coming into the program through the transfer portal and over 30 players leaving Tallahassee to find opportunities elsewhere.

Not all transfers will work out, both incoming and outgoing, but the hope is that the players that come in will improve the roster over the players that have left. However, a few of the dearly departed will probably work out in their new homes and have Seminole fans wishing they stayed.

Here are three former FSU players that have been turning heads this spring at their new schools:

QB Luke Kromenhoek (South Florida)

It appears that Kromenhoek, a redshirt sophomore, is in line to be the starter for Brain Hartline's program in 2026. Kromenhoek came to FSU as a highly-touted prospect and the quarterback of the future. Unfortunately, the future came far too quickly and the freshman wasn't ready to survive on a bad football team. Kromenhoek took what equated to a gap year at Mississippi State and, now in his third year, the raw tools he has are finally coming to the surface,

DB Earl Little Jr. (Ohio State)

This should not be a shock to anyone. Little is a solid player, maybe not a Derwin James, but he's a guy that can be trusted because he's got a ton of experience and has made a ton of plays during his career. He's the sort of versatile piece that Buckeyes defensive coordinator Matt Patricia is going to unleash in a wide variety of ways. The early reports that Little has been all over the field show that he's a great fit for Patricia's defense.

DB Cai Bates (Wisconsin)

Bates has some impressive physical tools and I believe he would've gotten into the mix this spring had he stayed. But the departure of Pat Surtain Sr. probably contributed to his decision. He's a tall, rangy player that can offer snaps at safety or defensive back and the staff at Wisconsin appears happy to have him. He's been a player that has been mentioned early this spring, and it wouldn't surprise anyone if he was named a starter for the Badgers going into fall camp.

Two other players to keep an eye on this spring are tight end Randy Pittman Jr., who should excel in Rhett Lashlee's offense, and wide receiver Lawayne McCoy, who Louisville coaches are already treating as a potential No. 1 option in the passing game.
