2025 wide receiver prospect is crystal balled to Florida State
Florida State football is listed as the 51st-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite. The Seminoles have not had the year that they wanted during the 2024 season. As a result, the program is already feeling the effects on the recruiting trail.
With that being said, the coaching staff has not been able to secure a top-ten recruiting class even when Florida State had a 13-1 record in 2023. Meanwhile, arch-rivals Florida and Miami have taken advantage of the Seminoles' struggles.
This is not GatorChat or HurricaneChat, but it is worth mentioning that the Seminoles need to take a new approach to the recruiting trail. Head football coach Mike Norvell has already fired some of the assistant coaches on staff such as offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans.
We have already seen four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph flip his pledge to Georgia Tech. That is largely because Atkins was a huge piece of the reasoning behind Joseph being in Tallahassee in the first part.
It isn't all bad news as On3's Steve Wiltfong inserts a flip prediction to Florida State for Class of 2025 three-star wide receiver Teriq Mallory from Cheshire Academy in New Haven, Connecticut. Mallory is currently committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers.
West Virginia has fired head football coach Neal Brown, so his recruiting class for the 2025 cycle could implode. Mallory has been a guy that Florida State offered a week and a half ago. He is a 6'5" playmaker with tremendous size for a pass catcher.
The Seminoles always have a wide receiver in their fold with three-star JUCO option Jordan Scott, who is 6'7". It looks like Florida State wants to prioritize length in the offense.
