FSU football has enjoyed the success of having a fantastic 2023 season where they have victories over teams such as LSU, Clemson, Boston College, and Duke.

The Seminoles are now ranked No. 4 in the updated College Football Playoff rankings. As a result, several highly-touted prospects are excited for the program’s future under the guidance of head football coach Mike Norvell and company.

Florida State has already generated seismic waves in the college football recruiting landscape where they have the fourth-best 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite. One notable prospect in the fold is five-star cornerback Charles Lester III from Venice High School in Venice, Florida (previously at Riverview High School in Sarasota, Florida).

The talented defensive back has been committed to the Seminoles since July 28th. He is considered the 28th-best prospect in this recruiting class. While Lester III is listed as a defensive back, he has already expressed that the coaching staff wants to play him on both sides of the football.

On Thursday afternoon, the Venice High School standout announced on social media that he will be having a signing/going away party on Saturday, December 23 at 7:30 PM EST. The party will be located at Newton Estate Gym in Sarasota, Florida. Lester III’s invitation has him featured with his FSU uniform pictures.

For reference, the 2023 early signing period for college football is between December 20th through December 23rd. Lester III is expected to early enroll at the college of his choice.

While I understand that FSU fans still have PTSD from the Travis Hunter situation, the Seminoles have maintained communication with Lester III. While he did take a visit to arch-rival Florida, the talented prospect has remained committed to Florida State Seminoles. He will even be in attendance for the Seminoles’ matchup this weekend against the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes.

I realize that some individuals feel as though prospects aren’t truly “locked in” until they sign the dotted line, but it has to make fans feel confident that the Seminoles are having major success on the field. This makes it more difficult for prospects to turn away from the program.

Regardless of where the highly-touted recruit signs, I know that he will be a tremendous collegiate athlete for the school of his choosing.
