FSU football: ACC Power Rankings after week 10(2023)
By Kelvin Hunt
I had FSU football at the top half of my preseason ACC Power Rankings, and so far so good after 10 weeks.
FSU football had a strong second half to get past Pittsburgh 24-7 on the road to remain unbeaten and the only unbeaten team in the state of Florida.
I called this past weekend when the contenders would separate themselves from the pretenders. Louisville proved they were a contender by blasting a Virginia Tech team that had won every game since losing to FSU. They are the odds on favorite to face FSU in the ACC Championship game.
Duke found a way to defeat Wake Forest with its third-string QB, and Boston College became bowl-eligible with a road win over Syracuse. Clemson got off the snide with an upset win over No. 15 Notre Dame in Death Valley.
Georgia Tech spanked Virginia and North Carolina defeated Campbell in out-of-conference play. The nightcap featured NC State upsetting Miami in Carter-Finley Stadium. I told you guys spooky things happen in Raleigh at night.
Anyways, here are my updated rankings after week 10:
- FSU football
- Louisville
- North Carolina
- Duke (+1)
- Boston College (+1)
- Georgia Tech (+1)
- NC State (+2)
- Miami (-4)
- Clemson (+1)
- Virginia Tech (-4)
- Virginia
- Wake Forest
- Syracuse
- Pittsburgh
Thoughts
FSU remains atop the ACC standings and will host the Miami Hurricanes for a shot to win their third straight in the series. FSU is two touchdown betting favorites. Louisville will host Virginia Thursday night and North Carolina will host Duke Saturday night.
NC State will travel to Wake Forest and Clemson will host Georgia Tech to see who will become bowl eligible after this week. Boston College will host Virginia Tech in an effort to continue their improbable turnaround. Syracuse will host Pitt to attempt to keep their hopes of making a bowl game alive.
Unless Louisville falls to Virginia or Miami in the next two weeks, it’ll be the Noles and the Cardinals in the ACC Championship game in Charlotte.
