FSU football: Score prediction/analysis for FSU-Duke
FSU football looks to be ready for its next challenge as it takes on the No. 16 ranked Duke Blue Devils in the friendly confines of a sold-out Doak Campbell Stadium in the prime time ABC slot on Saturday, October 21st at 7:30 PM EST.
The Seminoles are currently favored by 14.5 points. However, that number is largely impacted by the uncertainty of Duke quarterback Riley Leonard, who is currently dealing with a high ankle sprain.
While head football coach Mike Elko indicated earlier this week that Leonard could be available in the contest, high ankle sprains are injuries that cannot be taken lightly. This could hinder the do-it-all signal caller’s ability to extend plays with the utilization of his legs.
Nonetheless, head football coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles know what is at stake in this matchup. FSU is looking to start the season with a 7-0 record for the first time since 2014.
Quarterback Jordan Travis and the offense look to piece together a full 60-minute performance filled with offensive explosion (something that has not been accomplished this season). While the defense is looking to build upon their impressive showing in the Seminoles’ 41-3 victory over the Syracuse Orange last week.
With that being said, let’s get into the score predictions for this week.
CHOPCHAT STAFF SCORE PREDICTIONS
•Taylor Devers: 34-20 FSU
•Kelvin Hunt: 37-14 FSU
•Jason Zang: 27-14 FSU
•Nick Andre: 43-27 FSU
It looks like we have yet another clean sweep of predictions in favor of the Seminoles winning the contest (please do not let this be a jinx). We at ChopChat understand that the Blue Devils are a formidable opponent. This contest was extremely difficult due to the unpredictability of quarterback Riley Leonard’s injury status.
Nonetheless, the hope is that Duke can be at their best when they arrive in Tallahassee. At the conclusion of the game, we certainly hope that fans can exit Doak Campbell Stadium in a positive mood after the Seminoles potentially get a pivotal conference home victory over the Blue Devils.
