FSU football: 4-star UF DL commit scheduled to visit FSU this weekend
FSU football is awaiting a pivotal matchup when they face off against a top-25 opponent in the Duke Blue Devils in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
To make matters even better, Duke head football coach Mike Elko stated there is a chance that quarterback Riley Leonard play against Florida State in Saturday night’s matchup.
If the Blue Devils are willing to put their starting quarterback out there and risk further injuring his ankle, then you know that this a game that the opposing coaching staff feels that they need to win at all costs.
Highly-touted prospects are taking notice of Doak Campbell Stadium being sold out. It is also worth spectating two ranked opponents squaring off against one another in what could be a potential rematch of the ACC Championship.
According to a report from On3 Director of Football Recruiting Chad Simmons, one notable recruit that will be attendance is Class of 2024 Florida four-star defensive lineman commit Nasir Johnson from Dublin High School in Dublin, Georgia.
Johnson has been committed to the arch-rival Gators since June 17th. However, it seems as though he has been open to visiting other schools. He took a visit to Georgia in the month of September and will now be taking a trip to Tallahassee.
He could certainly be an enforcer on the interior of the defensive line for the Seminoles. Johnson is currently listed at 6’4”, 300 pounds.
Florida State currently has two defensive linemen committed to their program in four-star defensive end DD Holmes and three-star defensive tackle Jamorie Flagg. However, the coaching staff would like to acquire at least one (possibly two) more defensive lineman in this class.
Johnson would be a tremendous pickup for the Seminoles as they look to reload the defensive trenches for the 2024 season and beyond.
Recruiting is starting to heat up as Florida State approaches the Early Signing Period.
