FSU football has done a phenomenal job with constructing its 2024 recruiting class. It currently ranks No. 6 in the 247Sports Composite rankings with 21 prospects committed in the fold.

As I alluded to in a previous article, there are still prospects in this cycle who have displayed mutual interest in the Seminoles. The coaching staff has its sights set on several highly-touted prospects to round out the recruiting class.

On Wednesday morning, the Seminoles received great news as Noles247 Contributor Zach Blostein put in a crystal ball prediction with a confidence level of 6 out of 10 in favor of Florida State for four-star defensive back Jamari Howard from Miami, Florida.

This is now the second crystal ball prediction in favor of FSU for the talented South Florida defender as 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong inserted a prediction back on September 4th for him.

Howard decommitted from the Michigan State Spartans back on May 13th and has shown mutual interest in the Florida State Seminoles as he has received visit campus in late July for a camp. Plus, he took a trip to Orlando to watch FSU dominate the LSU Tigers by a score of 45-24.

It might seem odd to fans for the Seminoles going after yet another defensive back, given that they already have five-star KJ Bolden, four-star Charles Lester III, four-star Ricky Knight III, and three-star CJ Heard Jr. However, Florida State will be having to replace Renardo Green, Jarrian Jones, and Akeem Dent at the conclusion of this season.

Florida State’s defensive scheme does require a large amount of substitutions with their defensive back rotations. It is also worth mentioning that the Seminoles have a first-year defensive backs coach in Patrick Surtain, who likely wants to acquire prospects that coincide with his training and what he looks for at the position.
