FSU football: Impact players versus the Syracuse Orange
QB Jordan Travis
Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis has done a tremendous job of avoiding mistakes that could cost his football team. During the 2023 season thus far, he has completed 92 of his 145 passes for 1,198 yards and 12 touchdowns with only one interception. Travis has discussed in the preseason by some individuals to be a dark horse for the Heisman Trophy. While he hasn’t quite put up the gaudy numbers to indicate the praise, the West Palm Beach (FL) native has been more than serviceable.
If Travis wants an opportunity to put his talent on display, playing against the Syracuse defense could be exactly what he needs. The Orange rank 84th in the FBS in passing yards allowed (241 passing yards per game). In their last two losses to Clemson and North Carolina, they allowed quarterbacks Cade Klubnik and Drake Maye to combine for a total of 705 passing yards.
Travis could be in store for a big game through the air.
