FSU head football coach Mike Norvell spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon after practice concluded.

The Seminoles are fresh off a sensational overtime victory over the Clemson Tigers, whom they had not beaten since 2014. With the result, the program now has heightened expectations, which feature championship aspirations after going 4-0 in September.

The general public seems to be believers now in the Seminoles. However, Norvell is not satisfied with the early start. He places high importance on the response of his football team.

While it is vital to responding to adverse situations, it is also just as important to showcase the same sense of response when things are running smoothly.

Here are some takeaways from the press conference:

TODAY WAS A REALLY GOOD DAY OF PRACTICE

It is easy to get complacent with results, especially after obtaining a huge victory over a conference opponent they have not beaten in nine years. Norvell thought the players came out and worked at a high level with good intensity.

The Seminoles are currently on their bye week, but they have chosen to make the effort to improve themselves every day. That certainly speaks to the will and dedication of this football team. Some teams would have opted to not give full effort given that they do not have a game this Saturday. However, Norvell’s squad looks to be on a mission.

This football team possessed a 4-0 record last season. Unfortunately, the 2022 version ended up three straight games to Wake Forest, North Carolina State, and Clemson to fall to 4-3. This is where FSU has to learn from its past shortcomings.
