FSU football: Kickoff time for Virginia Tech announced
FSU football is utilizing their much-needed bye week after defeating the likes of LSU, Southern Miss, Boston College, and Clemson to get healthy and improve some areas.
The Seminoles have an upcoming contest against the Virginia Tech Hokies the following week, on Saturday, October 7th.
On Monday afternoon, it was announced that FSU will be taking on the Hokies at 3:30 p.m. in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
Disclaimer: The TV network has not been announced yet, but it will be either ABC or ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Virginia Tech has struggled mightily this season, specifically on the offensive side of the football. Since defeating Old Dominion in their season opener, they have lost three straight games to Purdue, Rutgers, and Marshall.
The Hokies will be taking on the Pittsburgh Panthers this Saturday at home, who are coming off a 41-24 defeat to No. 15 North Carolina.
Nonetheless, Florida State did not play their best football in their thrilling victory over Clemson but did just enough to pull away in the hostile environment of Memorial Stadium, where they haven’t won since 2013.
The bye week will give the Seminoles an opportunity to regroup on the mistakes, build upon the positive aspects, get healthier, and focus on the back half of the schedule (which includes a multitude of ranked teams such as Duke, Miami, and Florida).
Honestly, I was surprised by the 3:30 p.m. kickoff time. Given the Hokies’ shortcomings on the field, I was fully expecting myself for a noon time slot for the Noles. Thankfully, the college football gods have seen enough of the sleepy start times, given that the Seminoles already had to play Boston College and Clemson then.
Hopefully, FSU fans attending the game will be enjoying some nice weather as well as witnessing the ‘Noles cruise to victory for their third conference win of the season.
