FSU football had a massive recruiting month in July with 10 commitments. The Noles added one five-star, seven four-star, and two three-star players in July.

We hinted July could have recruiting fireworks, and it more than delivered on that premise. The recruiting class has the following needs met: QB, RB, TE, WR, LB, OL, Kicker.

FSU can choose to take more players at certain positions if they want. They could add another offensive lineman, wide receiver or linebacker.

However, those are more luxuries than needs. FSU truly only needs more help at defensive tackle, defensive end, and in the secondary.

Interestingly enough, FSU has some major targets remaining at all of those positions, and Mike Norvell hinted that August could have recruiting fireworks as well via his Twitter account:

The first thought that comes to mind is five-star safety target, KJ Bolden. There have been lots of smoke regarding FSU and his recruiting over the past few weeks. Bolden visited Auburn this weekend and had a great visit.

Georgia has been the odds-on favorite for most of that recruitment, and he will announce his commitment on August 5th. IF Bolden committed to FSU, that would be the second five-star defensive back in a week’s span.

It would also be the third five-star commit in the 2024 recruiting cycle. That would be the most since the 2017 recruiting cycle, which was Jimbo Fisher’s final full recruiting class at FSU. FSU football has another defensive back target with an August 5th commitment date in four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon.

FSU would accept both commitments, and Auburn is a school in the mix for Solomon as well. FSU also had five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and four-star defensive back Jamari Howard on campus over the weekend. Could those be in the mix too?

I suppose we’ll have to wait and see, but FSU hasn’t been this hot on the recruitment trail in a long time.
