FSU football: 4-star CB target receives two crystal ball predictions
FSU football has one defensive back committed to their 2024 recruiting class three-star safety CJ Heard from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.
Unfortunately, Florida State defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has not secured a commitment at his position since being hired by the Seminoles earlier this spring.
Any worries about FSU recruiting?
Fans notice that FSU football ranks as the No. 18th in the 2024 247Sports Composite rankings and immediately start to panic because they have filled their entire recruiting class by the month of June.
However, the Seminoles are positioned well, especially at the defensive back position. The program is trending well for five-star cornerback target Charles Lester III (who will be announcing his commitment in the month of July) and three-star cornerback target Kevin Levy.
Knight III to FSU?
The news keeps getting better on Wednesday afternoon as four-star cornerback target Ricky Knight III from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida, received two crystal ball predictions in favor of Florida State with confidence levels of 6 out of 10 from 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong and Noles247 Contributor Zach Blostein.
Knight III recently visited the Seminoles this past weekend and has an official visit scheduled for the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes this upcoming weekend.
Ironically enough, Knight III is first cousins with prospect Kevin Levy. It seems like the family connection could play a factor in both of their recruitments, as the two have entertained the idea of playing together at the collegiate level.
First Offer
The West Palm Beach native received his first-ever offer from the Seminoles on January 15, 2023, and they hired Patrick Surtain Sr. three days later on January 18th.
The relationship between Knight III and Surtain Sr. has continued to strengthen as the talented defensive back has visited Tallahassee four times since being offered.
He was once considered to trend in favor of the nearby Miami Hurricanes, but it seems as though Florida State has taken the lead before he makes his decision in early July.
