FSU baseball missed the postseason for the first time in over 40 years, and Link Jarrett is doing everything possible so that doesn’t happen again.

Jarrett has been attacking the transfer portal over the last week, adding some offensive firepower and a left-handed pitcher.

Sunday night UCF pitcher Cam Leiter announced his commitment to the Noles after entering the transfer portal once that program decided to fire their head coach.

It’s a situation Link Jarrett is taking full advantage of, as three of the last four transfer additions have come from UCF. Leiter is a flamethrower with three years of eligibility remaining.

He went 3-2 with 15 appearances (14 starts) as a freshman last season. He pitched 56.2 innings, allowing 53 hits, 41 walks, 80 strikeouts, and a 4.92 ERA.

Ironically, his production is nearly identical to FSU starting pitcher Jackson Baumeister, who also has a 95+mph fastball.

As you can see in the video, his stuff plays the same, with high heat up in the zone to put batters away.

Leiter is the nephew of longtime MLB pitcher Al Leiter. Cam Leiter got better as he gained more college experience, only allowing four earned runs in his last 18.2 innings pitched, including back-to-back 11 strikeout games and seven shutout innings in the AAC Tournament. He also made the All-AAC Freshman team.

The reaction of UCF baseball fans on Twitter tells you FSU got a good one:

In the past few days, Link Jarrett has already addressed some major holes on the roster. He’s added major production and power to the middle infield, an athletic left-handed hitting outfielder, an experienced power right-hander, and a experienced left-handed pitcher. Stay tuned, bright days ahead in Tallahassee.
