Is there a five-star commitment incoming?

FSU football is searching for its second five-star prospect to pair alongside tight-end commit Landen Thomas in their 2024 recruiting class.

They are doing their best to acquire five-star cornerback target Charles Lester III from Riverview High School in Sarasota, Florida.

The talented defensive back has made it known that he is highly interested in the Seminoles.

Lester’s cryptic tweet

Lester III went to Twitter last night to showcase himself playing in FSU gloves.

He has made it twice this spring for an unofficial visit to Tallahassee. Commits such as four-star QB Luke Kromenhoek and four-star RB Kameron Davis are doing their best in recruiting him. Even the running back’s mother (Dianna Carr-Davis) has been wearing her recruiting hat.

Even four-star cornerback target Jalewis Solomon responded in a retweet of Lester’s Twitter post.

The Sarasota native already has three crystal ball predictions in favor of the Seminoles. He has four official visits scheduled with Alabama (June 2-4), Colorado (June 9-11), Florida State (June 16-18), and Georgia (June 23-25).

Should FSU worry about Colorado and Georgia for Lester’s recruitment?

While some are worried about Colorado since head football coach Deion Sanders lured Class of 2022 long-time FSU defensive back commit Travis Hunter to Jackson State on National Signing Day, it is noted that Lester III is primarily focusing on three schools: Alabama, Florida State, and Georgia. The trip to Boulder is more of a courtesy visit.

As for Georgia, it is always worrisome to compete against the defending national champion. FSU has a big recruiting weekend on June 23rd, where several blue-chip prospects will be on campus. Why is Lester III not attending during that weekend? I believe that the Seminoles want to have more one-on-one time with the cornerback as only five official visitors will be visiting with four-star wide receiver BJ Gibson (FSU commit), three-star cornerback Ricky Knight III, three-star defensive tackle Alex January, and three-star cornerback Kevin Levy in attendance.

Analysis

All in all, the Seminoles have done all they can to acquire Lester III. He has made it a priority to post FSU-related content regularly. It makes it seem like he is a silent commit. All Seminole fans can do now is wait as the talented defender makes the best decision for him and his loved ones.
