FSU football coaches have added another blue-chip recruit to its June 23 official visitors list. Class of 2024 four-star safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr. from Clearwater High School in Clearwater, Florida, announced that he will officially visit Florida State on June 23.

His official visit schedule includes teams such as USC (June 2-4), South Carolina (June 9-11), Tennessee (June 16-18), and Florida State (June 23-25).

Boatwright ranks as the No. 424 player and No. 38 safety nationally. He ranks as the No. 63 player in the Sunshine State, and checks in at 6’1″ and 170 pounds. Boatwright received his FSU offer in May 2022, and has been on campus several times since.

He visited in June 2022 and for the Clemson game last year. He was on campus in January 2023 and March 2023. They say follow the visits!

FSU football has one safety prospect in their 2024 recruiting class with three-star CJ Heard from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. They are open to acquiring another safety prospect, given that their depth at the position is less than ideal. Plus, it will also be redshirt senior Akeem Dent’s final season in Tallahassee.

With the Clearwater native visiting, this is a massive development for a Seminoles’ coaching staff looking to build upon its eighth-ranked recruiting class. Boatwright Jr. was a Florida Gator lean (that crystal ball prediction from Swamp247 Florida Insider Blake Alderman has now been lowered to a confidence level of 1 out of 10). However, it seems the Gators are now out of the race for his services after Florida didn’t make his official visit schedule.

For reference, it seemed the Gators would have been frontrunners in the recruitment of former FSU four-star safety commit Jordan Pride. However, the talented defender committed to Texas A&M. Nothing is better than seeing Billy Napier and company striking out on quality defensive prospects.
