FSU football got good news Saturday afternoon when 2024 blue-chip safety CJ Heard committed to the Noles.

Heard’s commitment wasn’t without drama on a couple of fronts. He released a top seven list that didn’t feature FSU football at all.

The other part was he released a couple of videos that trolled the rival Florida Gators. However, he revealed he committed to the coaches a while back but wanted to wait until the right time to go public with the news.

The videos are below:

Heard ranks as the No. 249 player, No. 23 safety, and No. 35 player in Georgia. He lists at 6’0 and 200 pounds, with 50 offers, including almost every major Power 5 program.

Heard grew up an FSU fan and attended camps when players like Dalvin Cook and others were in Tallahassee in the early 2010s. It’s only right he trolled the rival Gators who offered him during his FSU commitment.

He was on campus as part of the Seminole Showcase event, which had 2023 recruits and beyond in attendance. Will Heard’s commitment be the first of a couple FSU receives this weekend? Heard is the sixth commitment in the 2024 recruiting class, which ranks No. 2 nationally.

He teams up with another blue-chip safety commit in Jordan Pride, a top 100 player. It’s a long time between now and December 2023, but the class is off to a great start with commitments at some key positions like QB, safety, defensive end, and wide receiver.

FSU football will need to win in 2022 for the opportunity to keep the class together, but if they do, the 2024 class will have an opportunity to be among the best if everyone holds true. Welcome to Nolenation, CJ Heard, and well done trolling the rival Florida Gators.
