FSU football head coach Alex Atkins has turned the offensive line from a weakness to a strength in a short amount of time. He has a select handful of quality targets for the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Class of 2024 four-star interior offensive lineman Jason Zandamela from Clearwater Academy International in Clearwater, Florida (originally from Mozambique) has included Florida State in his top five schools list.

Zandamela’s top school list includes Florida State, Oklahoma, Miami, USC, and Georgia.
The Seminoles seem to have the upper hand in the recruitment as they have two crystal ball predictions to land at Florida State.

June will be a busy month for the Seminoles as they look to have several highly-touted prospects on campus during that time. Zandamela will officially visit the campus on June 23rd, which features a weekend with double-digit blue-chip prospects.

FSU is looking to build depth at the center position. Luckily for FSU, Zandamela could be exactly what they are looking for as he started at center for Clearwater International Academy.

While he only lists as 6’3” and 285 pounds, FSU could take the opportunity to redshirt him during his first season and be able to get him settled into the strength and conditioning program. He would be a developmental prospect that could realistically play meaningful snaps by year two or three.

The four-star offensive lineman has already visited FSU three times in the calendar year. It also helps that his former high school teammate, true freshman offensive tackle Lucas Simmons, is on the FSU football roster.

While the Seminoles do not have an offensive lineman committed to their 2024 recruiting class, offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins is leading the charge in the recruitment.

We all know how dangerous Coach Atkins could be when it comes to acquiring highly-touted prospects. He has gotten 14 high school offensive lineman prospects to sign with the Seminoles since being hired by FSU in 2020.

The recruitment bodes well for the Seminoles to acquire Zandamela, as he will announce his commitment decision on July 6th.
