FSU football: Noles trending for two blue-chip 2024 offensive linemen

FSU football recruiting has gotten off to a great start for the 2024 recruiting cycle. FSU has nine commitments in its No. 4 nationally ranked recruiting class, and it looks like more quality players are trending for the Noles.

The coaching staff has done a great job on the defensive side, landing two defensive linemen and two safeties. Now the offensive side might start gaining momentum in the trenches behind the work of FSU offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Alex Atkins.

Two blue-chip offensive linemen received crystal ball predictions from the well-respected Steve Wiltfong Thursday afternoon. Pensacola’s Jonathan Daniels and Clearwater Christian’s Jason Zandamela are the players.

FSU has been making headway into the panhandle over the past few years in recruiting. Daniels ranks as the No. 130 player overall and No. 8 offensive tackle at 6’4″ and 280 pounds. Zandamela ranks as the No. 250 player and No. 15 interior offensive lineman at 6’3″ and 285 pounds.

Zandamela plays at the same high school that produced blue-chip offensive tackle Lucas Simmons in the 2023 recruiting class. Both guys have been on campus multiple times, including this January, and have plans to return to Tallahassee this spring.

This recruiting cycle doesn’t have a ton of high-profile offensive linemen in Florida, so trending for these two quality players is big time.

These guys have received recent offers from some big-time programs, so it’ll be imperative to keep getting them on campus and building those relationships. However, it looks like the days of FSU football taking questionable players on the offensive line are over as long as Alex Atkins is the offensive line coach and OC.

FSU seems to have all of its ducks in a row on the NIL front and expects to enter the 2023 season as a top 10-ranked team by most publications. If things hold true, FSU recruiting is about to be back among the elites where it’s supposed to be.
