Quality Linebackers

The linebacker position is another where FSU will see some attrition after the 2023 season. Tatum Bethune will exhaust eligibility, and Kalen DeLoach could leave for the NFL Draft.

FSU only signed one linebacker in the 2022 recruiting cycle and signed three in 2023. One, Blake Nichelson was a blue-chip player. Demarco Ward could be a solid player and enrolled in the spring.

However, FSU added one final linebacker three-star Dylan Brown-Turner signed with the Noles on National Signing Day.

They’ll have DJ Lundy in 2024, Omar Graham, and the three 2023 signees will have one year of college under their belt. FSU will need to bring in some quality linebackers in the 2024 recruiting class to help with depth, but they also need to land better quality overall from the prep ranks.

However, I think I’d likely treat linebackers how I treat wide receivers. What I mean by that is it’s difficult to consistently get quality play from true freshmen at these positions.

It might be smarter to add transfer portal pieces at linebacker each year while adding 1-2 prep players.
