FSU football learned its 2023 schedule Monday night when the ACC released the entire fall slate. At first glance, the Noles got another favorable schedule from the ACC.

I think it’s more favorable than last year because there isn’t a three-game stretch against three consecutive ranked teams like in 2022. FSU opens with LSU, and even if they lose that game, they have enough time to overcome the loss, especially since they play Clemson early in the season.

FSU should go into the Clemson game with no more than one loss, with a bye week afterward to heal from what will be a physical game. The three games after the bye week are like having three consecutive bye weeks with Virginia Tech and Syracuse.

Duke improved a ton last year but will likely be beaten up as they get into the back half of their schedule with little depth. The stretch with Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, and Miami would probably be the toughest three-game stretch.

However, Wake Forest and Pittsburgh lose a lot from last year, and Miami is still terrible. I know it’s a rivalry game, but I don’t respect what they have done there right now.

North Alabama before Florida gives the Noles an extra week to prepare for a Gator team that lost a lot from last year’s team.

  • FSU vs. LSU on September 3rd (in Orlando)
  • FSU vs. Southern Miss on September 9th
  • FSU @ Boston College on September 16th
  • FSU @ Clemson on September 23rd
  • Open
  • FSU vs. Virginia Tech on October 7th (Family Weekend)
  • FSU vs. Syracuse on October 14th
  • FSU vs. Duke on October 21st (Homecoming)
  • FSU @ Wake Forest on October 28th
  • FSU @ Pittsburgh on November 4th
  • FSU vs. Miami on November 11th
  • FSU vs. North Alabama on November 18th
  • FSU @ Florida on November 25th

Overall, FSU will have much better depth on both sides of the ball and gets Clemson early in the year, which I prefer since they will have a young quarterback.

Glancing at this schedule, FSU shouldn’t lose more than two games unless an injury at a major position happens early in the season.

The home slate is cool, and the Noles will have a chance to get revenge against Virginia Tech for the 2018 loss. FSU doesn’t have any Thursday night games.

If I had a gripe, I would have liked to have switched Pittsburgh and Syracuse. However, overall, this schedule shapes up well for the Noles.
