FSU football will travel to upstate New York Saturday night for a chance to win their third straight ACC contest when they take on the Syracuse Orange.

FSU enters the game a touchdown betting favorite, which most pundits have picked the Noles to win and cover.

FSU football vs. Syracuse: Betting Odds

The Noles are -7.5 betting favorites from the latest odds released, with the over/under coming in at 51. That implies a 29-22 outcome in the game.

I’d take the Noles to cover, but this could be a lower scoring game if FSU decides to pound the running game as the past few opponents against Syracuse. If Syracuse starting quarterback Garrett Shrader doesn’t play or is limited, that’s likely going to assure a loss for the Orange.

He has missed the last couple of games with an undisclosed injury, which I believe was his ankle. If that’s the case, a big part of Shrader’s game is his legs, which could limit his production.

Syracuse will depend heavily on him, running back Sean Tucker, and receiver Oronde Gadsden. However, their offensive line isn’t great, and they have suffered key injuries on defense as well. I wrote about the three keys to defeating Syracuse here, and this game is more about FSU than Syracuse. The Noles have more talent and depth overall.

A win for the Noles all but guarantees an eight win season with Louisiana on deck next week before finishing up the regular season against rival Florida. It will be the first time the Noles have reached 8+ wins since the 2016 season.
