FSU football: ACC Power Rankings after week ten
By Kelvin Hunt
I had FSU football in the top half of my preseason ACC Power Rankings, and I feel like the way I’ve been on point with my takes regarding the rest of the ACC.
One of the biggest takeaways was Syracuse lost their third straight game against Pittsburgh. I said this stretch of NC State, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh would take its toll on them before they play FSU.
The Noles will travel to upstate New York to face them as near touchdown favorites.
The surprise of the weekend was Notre Dame rolling Clemson to give them their first loss this season. North Carolina squeaked by Virginia and NC State gave Wake Forest their second straight loss. Georgia Tech squeaked past Virginia Tech and Louisville may have quietly saved Scott Satterfield’s job as they moved to 6-3 with a win over James Madison.
Here are my updated rankings by division and then overall as a conference:
ACC Atlantic
- Clemson (8-1, 6-0 ACC)
- NC State (7-2, 3-2 ACC)
- FSU (6-3, 4-3 ACC)
- Wake Forest (6-3, 2-3 ACC)
- Syracuse (6-3, 3-2 ACC)
- Louisville (6-3, 3-3 ACC)
- Boston College (2-7, 1-4 ACC)

Parting Thoughts
Clemson hasn’t lost an ACC game yet, so I have to keep them up top I suppose. However, I think FSU could beat them now they are mostly healthy on defense. They will play out of conference this week against the Citadel.
I think FSU would beat NC State if they played again, but they might have found their future quarterback with freshmen MJ Morris.
North Carolina would be higher if they had played better teams, but they have not beat one good team this season. They barely beat a Miami team FSU just smoked in one half. Wake Forest losing back-to-back games takes some luster from them, and I think FSU likely beats them now that they’re healthier on defense. Syracuse is who I’ve been saying they were all year, and FSU gets to prove it Saturday night.
Louisville has won four in a row, but that loss against Boston College is a terrible look. Georgia Tech has found new life under their interim head coach and is a slight favorite against Miami this week. If Miami loses that game, they will not make a bowl in Mario Cristobal’s first year as head coach.
