FSU football has several spots remaining in its 2023 recruiting class. They added three-star defensive back Jabril Rawls a few days ago for their 11th commitment.

It’s a name most casual fans were not familiar with, nor were they a fan of his ranking, but I think it’s important to understand the coaching staff has been solid in their talent evaluations.

However, two recruits should be more familiar with FSU fans. Four-star linebacker Blake Nichelson and three-star defensive tackle Tavion Gadson. Nichelson officially visited the Noles on June 17 and Gadson on the big recruiting weekend of June 24.

FSU has been battling Oregon for Nichelson, who hails from Manteca, California. I said at the time of his official visit it was important to get him back on campus before the summer was over. The coaching staff succeeded as Nichelson came for multiple days unofficially over the weekend. That visit spurned several crystal ball predictions favoring FSU football.

The Noles hold all six predictions. FSU is battling Tennessee and Minnesota for Tavion Gadson. Gadson hails from nearby Savannah, Georgia, and has officially visited Minnesota. Two crystal ball predictions favor FSU, the latest from reputable recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong with a confidence of six.

The Noles could use some good news on the recruiting trail, and both players are quality prospects at positions of need. Gadson is someone I thought may commit last month to help provide the Noles with some momentum as they were also in the mix for the likes of Keldric Faulk and Lucas Simmons, both of who FSU gained commitments.

Nevertheless, the additions of Nichelson and Gadson would improve FSU’s national ranking by about 13 spots to No. 26. Of course, crystal ball predictions can be fluid, but these two players would be solid additions for the staff and could provide some positive vibes going into the season.
