FSU football goes into the 2022 season with higher expectations due to more talent and experience returning on both sides of the ball.

I’ve been thinking back to previous FSU teams and which teams this one would be most similar to stats-wise. The 2015 team is the one I keep coming back to. I know that team won 10 games, and no, I don’t expect the 2022 team to replicate that feat.

There is no Dalvin Cook, Jalen Ramsey, DeMarcus Walker, or Derwin James on the 2022 team. However, the defense was the strength of that team, and the same will be the case for the 2022 team.

The 2015 team had limitations at quarterback and only had three wide receivers that contributed much that year, along with Dalvin Cook out of the backfield.

The 2022 offensive line might be the best it has been since that 2015 team. Overall, I think the 2015 team has more top-end NFL talent, and teams in the ACC will likely be better than they were then.

However, as a whole, I think this year’s team could match what 2015 did from a stat perspective.
