Transfer portal offensive lineman Jazston Turnetine has narrowed his final destination down to two different places.

He’s going to choose either Florida State or Michigan State, according to his latest update on his Twitter account.

Playing time is an important factor for Turnetine, who has a tweet pinned on Twitter that he doesn’t want to sit on the bench for his final season of eligibility.

FSU coaches have done some good work in the transfer portal, often zeroing in on top targets once they enter the portal.

Turnetine entered the portal in late April, and the Noles have been in contact, getting him on campus the first week of this month to see him in person.

Jazston Turnetine originally hails from South Carolina and has some starting experience for the Gamecocks, though his performances were up and down quite a bit.

He’s not a game-changer but could offer another body along the offensive line that would allow younger guys to redshirt and develop instead of playing too early. Plus, he only has one year of eligibility, so if he doesn’t contribute much, he’d be gone after the 2022 season.

The Noles recently added offensive lineman D’Mitri Emmanuel, and the lone unsigned high school player from the 2022 recruiting class, offensive lineman Antavious Woody, enrolled at FSU Monday.

Woody isn’t expected to play in 2022, but he absorbs a scholarship spot. Turnetine would be the fourth transfer offensive lineman from the transfer portal if he decides to come to Tallahassee.

There should be an opportunity to play at FSU, provided he gets to campus in shape and ready to go to work. The Noles have a solid 6-7 players that should play a lot, and Turnetine would give them a sought-after number of eight players physically ready to play. We’ll see how it shakes out.
