FSU football: Recruiting targets setting important dates to remember
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football recruiting will likely begin to heat up as we get closer to the summer months.
I wrote about the importance of players attending FSU camps a week or so ago and how that will provide a good snapshot regarding which recruits are still interested in FSU.
The Noles were trending with several blue-chip players a couple of months ago, and a few of those players have set some important dates to remember.
FSU football coaches look to continue addressing the trenches on both sides of the ball. These three players would be tremendous additions.
Four-star defensive lineman Darron Reed ranks as the No. 328 player and No. 48 defensive lineman nationally. He’ll release his top five schools on Wednesday, May 18th, and officially set to visit the Noles on June 21st. He’ll also be officially visiting Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, and Miami, according to 247 Sports. LSU and Miami will be before the FSU visit, with Clemson and Ohio State afterward. FSU and Ohio State hold one crystal ball prediction each.
Four-star offensive lineman Roderick Kearney ranks as the No. 164 player nationally and will release his top seven schools on July 7th. Kearney has always listed FSU as one of his top schools and has been to campus several times this spring. There are no crystal ball predictions for Kearney.
Four-star defensive lineman Keldric Faulk ranks as the No. 112 player and No. 14 defensive lineman nationally. Faulk has narrowed his focus down to four schools: Auburn, Florida, FSU, and Clemson. Faulk has set up official visits with each school, with FSU receiving the final visit unless he decides to schedule his fifth and final official. He’ll be at FSU football on June 24th. There are no crystal ball predictions for Faulk.
Thoughts
The Noles were the first to offer Darron Reed in March, 2021. They were among the first to offer Roderick Kearney and Keldrick Faulk, and have gotten all three on campus multiple times.
All three have been on campus at least twice this spring, which is something the staff have proven they can do effectively. The next step is seeing if they can close on these type of players. If so, this class has a chance to be much better than most think right now.
