Key To Victory

TCU is a team similar to FSU in a lot of ways. They don’t have a ton of offensive power but can do damage with hits in the gaps. They’re aggressive on the bases, with 58 steals in 65 attempts. They strike out 24 percent of the time, quite a bit lower than FSU.

They don’t beat themselves with errors and make routine plays. Pitching is the biggest difference between the two teams. FSU has pitchers that can be more dominant when they’re on, so it’ll be interesting to see how they stack up.

TCU will likely look to make FSU pitchers work for outs and try to get into FSU’s bullpen. FSU has to get more production from its offense. Logan Lacey and Alex Toral have been nearly automatic outs at the plate the past couple of weeks.

Hopefully, Jordan Carrion will continue his hot hitting, and FSU pitchers work ahead in the count. It’s as simple as throwing strikes, putting the ball in play, and making the routine plays defensively. The Noles need to win this series to keep their hope of hosting a regional alive.

Friday’s game will begin at 6 p.m. ET and air on the ACCNX channel.
