FSU baseball (16-8, 6-3 ACC) will look for their fourth consecutive ACC conference series win when they host Notre Dame (13-5, 2-4 ACC) in a three-game series.

Notre Dame comes into the game after defeating Northern Illinois 11-2 in midweek action.

Notre Dame batters are hitting .304 with an on-base percentage of .379 and have hit 19 home runs, 39 doubles, and eight triples.

Notre Dame pitchers will enter the contest with a 3.40 ERA, with opposing teams batting .206, with 207 strikeouts and 71 walks in 161.1 innings. They have allowed 12 home runs.

Defensively, Notre Dame has eight errors in 18 games for a fielding percentage of .988.

FSU baseball pitchers enter the contest with a 3.65 ERA, with opposing teams batting .225, with 311 strikeouts and 92 walks in 224.1 innings.

FSU batters are hitting .284 with an on-base percentage of .382 and have 31 home runs, 60 doubles, and four triples.

Defensively, FSU has 30 errors in 24 games for a fielding percentage of .967. FSU has played the more difficult schedule with an RPI ranking of No. 17, compared to Notre Dame’s No. 22 ranking.

Key To Victory

FSU starting pitchers Parker Messick and Bryce Hubbart rebounded against Duke to look like their dominant selves, and they’ll need that to continue against a good-hitting Notre Dame squad. They will need to avoid walks, plus Notre Dame is aggressive on the bases with 30 steals in 37 attempts.

Ross Dunn will need to put his last start behind him, which only saw him pitch 1.2 innings and walk multiple batters.

Notre Dame’s John Bertrand defeated the Noles last year, pitching seven innings and allowing five hits and no runs. The Noles hit Notre Dame starter Aidan Tyrell well last year as he came in from the bullpen. FSU has to do a better job of situational hitting and cutting down on the strikeouts.

Friday’s game will begin at 7 p.m. ET and air on the ACCNX channel.
