Jalen Ramsey and Cam Akers react to Super Bowl LVI win
By Kelvin Hunt
Jalen Ramsey and Cam Akers joined a list of former FSU players that were high draft selections to win a Super Bowl in the NFL Sunday night.
Neither player had their best games, but in the end, they have something that nobody can take away as Super Bowl champions.
It’s ironic Jalen Ramsey is one of a handful of players to win a college national championship and a Super Bowl. Ramsey was a part of one of the most dominant FSU runs from 2013 to 2015.
However, Akers was a part of one of the worst periods of FSU football from 2017 to 2019. Both players reacted to their win after the game Sunday night.
Cam Akers was ineffective behind an offensive line that couldn’t block much of the night. It had to give him flashbacks of his time at FSU where he dodged players behind the line of scrimmage to get positive yardage.
Akers finished the game with 13 carries for 21 yards and three receptions for 14 yards. Ramsey finished the game with four tackles, and one pass defended, but we talked about how he may have lost the battle but won the war with Bengal receivers.
What Ramsey said about his career is what stands out. He’s been a player that fans either love or hate, but his production on the field has been among the best since he put on a professional uniform.
The Super Bowl win puts the icing on the cake for a player that’s been to multiple Pro Bowls and is a three-time First Team NFL All-Pro. Akers has a promising story, overcoming a major Achilles injury in a short amount of time to play in the Super Bowl is worth remembering.
Ramsey likely still has a couple of years left as one of the best cornerbacks in the game, and Akers has only been in the league for two years. If they don’t win anything else, they’ve accomplished the ultimate with the Super Bowl win.
