FSU basketball (12-5, 5-2 ACC) has won their last five games, including beating the top two teams in the conference standings in back-to-back games.

Ironically, they won five in a row around the same time last year. The only difference is this year’s team has several new faces and lots of freshmen playing valuable minutes.

Leonard Hamilton seems to have found the right buttons to push on a team that many didn’t see having the success they are achieving over the past couple of weeks. Especially not after a blowout loss against Wake Forest to start the new year.

However, that game was on the road after 18 days of not playing a game and not having much practice time due to COVID-19 related issues.

There seems to be more cohesion overall, the freshmen are growing up before our eyes, and veterans seem to be finding their respective roles on the team. How good can this team eventually be? I’m not sure, but I don’t think they’ve scratched the surface of their potential.

They still have a long way to go to be more consistent on both ends of the floor. Let’s go inside the five-game winning streak.
