FSU football will face a stiff test when they welcome the Miami Hurricanes to Doak Campbell Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Noles come into the game off a loss against NC State last week, where they played with backup players at a few positions because of the flu. However, most of those players should be back, which means the Noles will be closer to full strength in a huge rivalry game.

Miami ranks No. 53 overall, according to advanced metrics at BCF Toys, eight spots behind FSU football. The Canes have been impressive offensively, but their defense reflects the polar opposite.

Their offense consists of a lot of vertical passing, which leads to explosive plays but also more opportunity for tackles for a loss. Their running back and former FSU commit, Jaylon Knighton, is explosive and can be an impact player on the ground and in the receiving game.

Defensively, they allow 5.60 yards per play and opposing offenses convert third-downs 41.38 percent of the time. As I wrote earlier this week, they allow a ton of explosive plays on the ground and through the air and are a poor tackling team.

FSU will need to score north of 30 points to have a shot in this one, and the defense will need to be on point like icicles to limit the chunk plays Miami wants. Let’s get into my three keys to victory for the Noles against the Canes to end this four-game losing streak against them.
