FSU football will honor legendary coach Bobby Bowden with several tributes in the 2021 season. The announcement came Wednesday in a press release and via FSU social media channels.

Of course, Bobby Bowden, arguably the greatest college football coach of all time, passed away last month, and his life has been celebrated ever since.

Many FSU football fans wondered how the university would decide to honor his legacy moving forward, and I think what they’ve decided upon is fantastic. Samford announced they would be honoring Bowden with helmet stickers during the year. Of course, that’s where Bowden played college football and coached for a couple of years before ultimately coaching at FSU years later.

The pictures from the FSU football Twitter account below provides three ways they plan to honor Bobby Bowden’s legacy:

I think the Bobby Bowden signature on the back of the helmet is something that should remain permanently. I feel the same way about his Bobby Bowden logo with his iconic hat on the field.

That is something that should remain forever as well. It’s Bobby Bowden Field, after all.

The polo shirts with the Bobby Bowden logo are a nice touch, and the tribute banner in the south end zone is another constant reminder of Bowden’s legacy.

There is no word on if there will be a special time to recognize these gestures, but it would be great to show a highlight video of Coach Bowden on the big screen before the game gets underway. Doak Campbell Stadium will be at or near capacity, and I can’t think of a better way to get an already pumped crowd to their maximum levels.

The Noles will need the stadium to provide an electric atmosphere for the players and recruits that plan to attend.

The Noles will take on Notre Dame Sunday night in primetime at 7:30 on ABC.
