Former FSU football head coach Bobby Bowden had as much respect off the field as he had on the field.

I thought it would be appropriate to continue paying tribute to the man that made FSU football among the most prestigious brands in college football.

Coach Bowden was known for his humor, quick wit, and humility. Here are five quotes from the legend we can apply to everyday life.

I think Coach Bowden lived this quote to the fullest. He inspired and impact so many people during his coaching career. However, it didn’t stop then as he continued to do the same after he retired. The way he announced and faced his terminal illness was inspiring.

Parting Thoughts

I’ve read numerous comments from former players and coaches. Almost all of the comments refer to what Coach Bowden represented as a man, and I think that’s the greatest honor. I would also like to take time to give credit and praise to his wife, Ann.

It takes a special woman to be married to a football coach for over 70 years. She exemplified a couple of these quotes.

She sacrificed time away from her husband so he could do what he was put on this earth to do. At the same time, she raised a family and supported Coach Bowden every step of the way. I hope the Bowden family can find peace and celebrate, knowing Coach Bowden lived an extraordinary life impacting so many people.
