FSU football: A legitimate QB competition means good news for the Noles

FSU football coach Mike Norvell has a good problem on his hands with the quarterback position. The consensus has been McKenzie Milton would be the starter, and Jordan Travis will have some sub-packages to get on the field in 2021.
However, it appears FSU has a legitimate quarterback battle brewing between the two players after five practices.
However, there’s a long way to go with nearly 20 practices left in fall camp. The good news is Jordan Travis didn’t throw in the towel and concede the position after the spring game like some pundits suggested.
Some people said it seemed like Jordan Travis threw in the towel because of how his demeanor appeared at the ACC Kickoff when speaking to reporters.
I thought that was hilarious. Did it ever occur to folks that Jordan Travis may not be comfortable in the setting since he had never done it before?
Nevertheless, Jordan Travis proved he’s a gamer last season when he missed almost all of the offseason and still provided a spark for the FSU offense.
We know he’s one of the most dynamic players with his legs, but the challenge was could he improve his passing game? It seems that’s the case, and he appears more confident.
It’s funny how confidence works. However, I expect McKenzie Milton to continue improving throughout fall camp, just as he did in the spring.
There’s some belief Milton is simply a gamer and not a great practice player. I believe there’s some truth to that. I know I wasn’t the best practice player, but it was a different story when it was game time.
FSU football fans should be rejoicing there’s a legitimate quarterback battle. It’s something we haven’t had in a long time, and it only means good things for the Noles.
