FSU football: Top three July 2021 observations with Mike Norvell

Recruiting Momentum
It’s funny because recruiting was an area most folks were most concerned about under Mike Norvell. However, there is a method to how Mike Norvell and the staff goes about it.
I wrote about how they used the pandemic to their advantage last year. They spent that time evaluating and offering 2022, 2023, and 2024 recruits, and that decision is paying off big time now.
Everybody is talking about FSU recruiting nowadays. How is Mike Norvell doing it after a 3-6 season?
The Noles added five commits to the 2022 recruiting class in June, and that momentum continued into July. FSU football added three more 2022 commits in July and a 2023 commitment from QB Chris Parson.
The coaches also filled the final spot in the 2021 recruiting class with Alabama A&M transfer Marcus Cushnie.
Not only that, the coaching staff got some other key targets back on campus. The staff has four-star offensive tackle Elijah Prichett, three-star offensive lineman Eston Harris Jr., 2023 five-star wide receiver Jalen Brown and four-star wide receiver Santana Fleming to name a few.
They also got some important commits on campus to continue building the bond the 2022 class has with one another.
As I wrote a few days ago, the coaching staff has nearly 70 percent of the class complete and has their eyes set on all of their top targets remaining as they are about to begin fall camp.
I don’t think they could be in a much better position from a recruiting standpoint.
