I wrote about the possibility of the Noles finishing with a blue-chip ratio of 50 percent or higher in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

The coaching staff would likely need at least seven more blue-chip players for that to become a reality as long as everything remains as is right now.

The good news is, FSU football is riding a wave of June momentum coming off the Midnight Madness and Mega Camp events.

I know some fans don’t believe anything is productive unless players announce commitments, but that’s not the case.

There are several ways to evaluate the success of an event, after all, who says a player didn’t commit and just hasn’t made it public yet? I’m not saying that’s the case but providing another way of looking at things.

What about the number of high school coaches and other folks associated with big-time players?

That’s something that has been missing due to the pandemic, but the coaching staff is making up ground in the relationships department.

One thing no one can deny is the number of quality players the FSU football coaching staff is getting to campus in June for unofficial visits. Players from the 2022 class and beyond are coming, and coming multiple times.

Not to mention the number of quality players with official visits already lined up for Tallahassee during the season.

I’ve said it until I’m blue in the face, but the success of this class is predicated on the team showing improvement on the field. I think players want FSU football and Mike Norvell to succeed, and if they can look better, they have a good shot at signing these seven blue-chip players (in no particular order).
