FSU baseball (10-6, 7-5 ACC) took their third win over Miami in as many days to sweep the series with a 12-0 shutout win. The third game started much like the first twpo, with the Noles jumping on the Canes in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.

FSU starting pitcher Conor Grady went right after Miami hitters and only gave up one hit in five innings to notch the victory.

His stat line reads seven strikeouts, two walks, one hits, and zero runs allowed. FSU’s bullpen held Miami scoreless the rest of the way, yielding two hits, five strikeouts and zero walks.

FSU scored runs in the first, third, fourth, fifth and seventh innings.

FSU batters did a great job putting the ball in play, striking out nine times in the game, with 15 hits, while walking three times.

FSU’s defense continued to shine and didn’t commit any errors in the three-game series. Logan Lacey continues to tear the cover off the ball, going 3-3 with two RBI’s before leaving the game with a leg injury. Robby Martin went 3-5 with a home run and four RBI’s. Nander De Sedas went 3-5 with a home run and one RBI.

FSU baseball continues to play well as a team. The ability to score runs early and give their pitchers some cushion before taking the mound is important. It’s also important they continue to add runs in subsequent innings and not get complacent with the runs they score early. I can’t tell you the last time FSU baseball went a three-game series without committing an error.

We’ve seen FSU with the opportunity to sweep a series earlier in the season and get complacent. Their ability to get the job done on the road against a rival ranked in most top 10 rankings is impressive.

The Noles have won seven of their last nine games and are one of the hottest teams in college baseball.

FSU baseball will be back in action Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET as they host UCF.
