FSU football continues to evaluate players for its 2022 recruiting class. The coaches understand the importance of the quarterback position and will bring in 1-2 in this recruiting cycle.

The latest offer goes to three-star prostyle quarterback Tayven Jackson from Center Grove High Scholl in Greenwood, Indiana.

He’s the 10th pro-style quarterback they’ve offered in 2022, with three other offers to dual-threat quarterbacks.

Jackson announced the news via his Twitter account Tuesday afternoon:

Jackson checks in at 6’5″ and 185 pounds. He has 18 offers from FSU, Arizona State, Louisville, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Missouri, West Virginia, Minnesota, and Michigan State among some smaller schools.

Jackson is considered the No. 433 player overall, No. 19 pro-style QB, and No. 9 player in Indiana.

Video Highlights

Jackson displays some athleticism in the video. He’s a long strider who’ll need to put on some muscle mass to withstand the physicality of the college game. I wouldn’t look at him as an immediate contributor as a freshman, but someone to develop into a player after a couple of years in college.

He shows the ability to get rid of the ball fairly quickly at times, with someone with such long arms. His arm is strong enough to attack the field vertically and seems to have good pocket awareness.

Jackson shows he can throw on the run and did a good job of setting his feet to make a throw after rolling to his left in the video. Usually, quarterbacks will try to make that throw while on the run, which results in a poor throw.

He also seems to make quick decisions and even hit the check down a couple of times in the highlight. I like the offer, now let’s see if they can get the young man on campus.
