FSU football players have started preparing for the 2021 season that will begin September 5 against Notre Dame.

The Tour of Duty began Friday, and some new players that joined the team from the transfer portal this spring were available to the media for the first time.

Former Georiga defensive end Jermaine Johnson spoke with media at length Friday morning on a variety of topics.

The addition of Johnson from the transfer portal followed shortly after McKenzie Milton announced his commitment to FSU.

Johnson’s commitment was huge for fans because he fit a position of need and thought to be a longshot for the Noles to land from the transfer portal.

I had never seen Johnson speak before Friday’s interview, and I can away extremely impressed by the young man.

Here are my takeaways from the press conference. The entire video is here as well.
