FSU football: Noles offer 2022 athlete Jaylin Lucas
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football continues to evaluate players for its 2022 recruiting class.
FSU football coaches are looking to solidify playmakers needed in the upcoming recruiting classes.
The latest offer heads to the 2022 athlete Jaylin Lucas, the younger brother of current FSU player Ja’Khi Douglas.
Douglas was a four-star signee that was part of Mike Norvell’s 2020 inaugural recruiting class.
Lucas announced the offer via this Twitter account Tuesday afternoon:
Lucas checks in at 5’8″ and 175 pounds and has six offers from FSU, Virginia, and Kansas, among some smaller schools. He hails from Terrabonne, Louisiana, which is the same high school as his brother.
He isn’t ranked by the 247 Composite Rankings, though Rivals ranks him as a three-star recruit. Lucas has an uncanny facial resemblance to Douglas and a similar style of play with the ball in his hands. Lucas has another year to develop and could be about the same size as his brother once he graduates high school.
Here are some video highlights below:
The first video is footage from over a year ago. Lucas lines up in the slot and as a running back and displays the ability to change the numbers on the scoreboard with the ball in his hands.
The training video is more recent, and he looks noticeably bigger and quicker. He is not a burner with a verified time of 11.7 in the 100 meters as a sophomore. His brother’s best 100-meter time was 11.07, so he may get faster as he matures physically. Lucas also plays basketball, so he continues the trend of Mike Norvell preferring guys that are multi-sport athletes.
FSU received its third commitment of the 2022 recruiting cycle a few days ago with blue-chip wide receiver Quincey McAdoo. The coaching staff is looking to provide a lot of weapons to whichever QB decides to join this class.
