FSU football continues to address needs in its 2021 recruiting class.

FSU football coaches are hard at work closing out the 2021 recruiting class while sending offers to 2022 recruits and beyond since the season has ended.

The Noles have 20 commitments with about six spots left to fill in its class with the majority of those spots going to players in the transfer portal.

The coaches have added three players from the portal, with McKenzie Milton (QB), Jarques McClellion (CB), and Jermaine Johnson (DE/OLB).

I’ve written about the recruiting strategy for the 2021 recruiting cycle in case you missed it. The coaches are looking for experienced talent so the team can be more competitive in the 2021 season.

Not only that, they are looking for these experienced players to help change the culture of the program now that the majority of the players will be those Mike Norvell signed.

The three additions from the portal help meet significant needs on the roster. Milton brings leadership and has experience in helping a program turn things around.

McClellion brings experience and size to the secondary. Johnson would be the most experienced pass-rusher on the roster now that Janarius Robinson and Joshua Kaindoh will pursue their NFL dreams.

Even though the coaches have addressed needs, there are still areas to address via the transfer portal.
